Curator: Juan Peralta and Haroldo Higa.
Collective exhibition II Salon de Arte Joven Nikkei 2018 @ Lima, Peru and Salon Joven Nikkei @ Tokyo, Japan 2019.

Exhibition pieces

The proposals in this second edition of the art salon touch on the topics of identity, art and technology. As a group of Japanece descendant artists, we explored the merging of our own practices and said topics, with group feedback and collective sharing until the moment of the exhibition.

I use the teapot as a conceptual element of the tea ceremony: that traditional Japanese ritual which invites one to enjoy the here and now.

Adapting the shape of the container to the function of containing and serving was the added proposal since all the pieces are functioning teapots. With this project, I seek to contrast both rituals: those of before and those of now; questioning the existence of that brief enjoyment in our times.
